At 3:00 PM, this is the trail ahead, between me and Augstbord Pass. I haven't seen anyone since that lone hiker half an hour ago. The elevation here is 2425m, so there's still almost half a kilometer yet to ascend! In rain, thunder, and sleet, I'd donned rain gear half an hour earlier. Pretty desolate! I found it both exhilarating and frightening.
