By 8:45 PM I'd scrapped the cold and buggy hammock setup in favor of a standard camp beside the road. Out of the wind, in the shining sun, the warmth was immediate as I crawled in to spread the ground cloth and pad. I had a good restful night, arising shortly after a runner padded past at 6:00 the next morning.
