Within 10 minutes, though, after deciding to turn back and head directly back up to the ridge, I came to this cairn... obviously identifying the correct path! Just as I hung a left, up toward Cairn Toul, my two friends from Devil's Point arrived. Knowledgeable and experienced, they picked out the path through the boulders like mountain goats, and I followed them!
