After some confusion when I reached the town, by 3:15 PM I was set up in Room 4 of St. Niklaus's modestly priced Pension Walliserkeller. On a narrow old street in the heart of town, I wouldn't have found it if they hadn't sent a man to meet me at the red "St. Niklaus" statue! There are shower and washbasin, but the toilet is down the hall.
