The lake valve We're looking up into the doghouse, past the now-closed lake valve. It must be opened to drain the system fully, and closed for system use. The heating devices are "upstairs" in the doghouse; this valve will be protected by the insulated "cathouse" and the valve warmed through this opening from the doghouse heaters.
